MEAD-MAKING STARTER KITS

The Basic Mead-Making Starter Kit:

This kit is geared for the mead-maker that wants to brew five gallons of mead at a time, and has no other beer or winemaking equipment. It comes with a choice of corker, or capper, depending upon whether or not you want to have your mead still, like a wine, or sparkling, like a beer or champagne. Please specify when ordering. The kit includes:

an 8-gallon plastic primary fermenter
a five-gallon glass carboy
an airlock and a rubber stopper
a heavy duty corker, or bottle capper - your choice
a triple scale hydrometer
a racking cane/automatic siphon starter combo (an awesome tool!)
6 feet of siphon tubing and a large hose clamp
a spring-loaded bottle filler
a stick-on exterior thermometer
Potassium Meta-bisulfite (for keeping the mead clean)
a book on basic wine-making

The price of this setup is $84.95 with the capper.
or $93.95 with the corker.

Please note that you still may need a five gallon stockpot if you plan on heating or boiling your meads on the stovetop. That procedure is optional; many meadmakers use sulphites in lieu of boiling. See our mead info page for more instructions...
